SEVEN SLEEPERS AND HUMAN HIBERNATION

Most of us know the story of the seven sleepers as it is both mentioned in The Bible and Quran as they both show it as the proof of the afterlife resurrection of the human but here I am going to change your vision about the story of the seven legendary men and their dog.

In christianity the story of the seven sleepers are simply told like this:

Decius the emperor of Rome was catching all christians and killing them, to escape from that six noble young men and another young man who joined them with his dog(named Kitmir or Al Rakim but the name of the dog is mentioned only in Quran but not The Bible) hid in a cave around Ophesus and built a wall to the entrance of the cave so the men of the emperor wouldn't find them. For a long time they waited in the cave and in time they were beaten by the sleepiness and fell asleep but that was a long sleep. They woke up after 158 years(in some sources its mentioned as 197 years) then as they felt hungry they sent one of them to the city secretly and after that they could understand the time that passed. When Bishop of Ophesus realized the story of the seven sleepers is true he called the emperor Teodosius the 2nd to Ophesus and the emperor ordered for a church to be built near the cave that the seven young men and their dog slept and it is said that they were buried there after their death.

Names of the seven in christianity are:

Maximianus,Malchus,Martinianus,Constantinu,Dionysius,Iohannes,Serapio

In Quran in the surah named Kehf this is mentioned as Eshab-ul Kehf. Generally the story is mentioned the same but Quran says the seven young men were brothers. And their names are mentioned as:

Yemliha,Mekselina,Mislina,Mernus,Debernus,Sazenus,Kefestatayus and Kitmir(or Al Rakim which is the dog of Kefestatayus)

Ok we shortly remembered the story of the seven sleepers that is a proof to afterlife resurrection so now let's come to the part that will change your vision about this story-human hibernation:

Have you ever died and revived back?(I did twice but that's another story!) Or would you like to? Would you like to make space travels to far away galaxies? Or think that you need organ transplantation but there's not a suitable donor and you are about to run out of time, would you like to be able to have more time to wait? Those all sound impossible right? How can a human die and return back to life? Going to other galaxies would take longer time than a human life so how can we do that? How can long distance space travels be possible in the lifetime of a human? How can you be able to wait longer till you find a suitable organ when you are nearly out of time? The answer to this has laid in us people since the beginning of humanity but we lately got to realize it, as you can already guess it's human hibernation

We know some animals like bears,insects,snakes and more hibernate, in unrealizeably doses the human hibernate too but not as the way to make things mentioned above possible. Hibernation can be shortly mentioned as changing the body temperature enough to keep the cells inactive, so it can be mentioned as dying for a while! There is not a human hibernation could be done under control yet but there are natural examples to that:

*) A norwegian skier was rescued in 1999 after being submerged in icy water for more than an hour. She had no heartbeat and her body temperture was 57 degrees fahrenheit(normal is 98.6) but she recovered.

*) Canadian toddler Erika Nordby wandered outside at night and nearly froze to death in 2001. She wore only a diaper and a t-shirt. It was -11 fahrenheit(-24 celcius) when found, her heart had stopped beatin for two hours and her body temperature was 61 degrees. She suffered severe frostbite but required no amputations and otherwise recovered.

As we see here the story of the seven sleepers can sound as an extreme situation of natural hibernation though we know in especially deep places of the caves it can be under 0 degree and if we consider they were escaping from being slaughtered it is possible that they have gone as deep inside as they could.

Still this may not explain the whole situation though that didn't also answer the questions I asked about space travels, organ transplantations but partially explained dying and returning back but not under control. So to be hibernated do we need to be frozen?

Here I need to tell about a recent research that can make the human hibernation under control possible so long distance space travels and waiting for suitable organs for long time possible. The thing used to make it possible is hydrogen sulfide that human body and animals naturally produce. Human use it to buffer the metabolic flexibility. It's what allows our core temperature to stay at 98.6 degrees, regardless of whether we are in Ecuador or the Southern Pole.

They made experiments on the mice and the mice didn't need to freeze cause they made them breathe air laced with hydrogen sulfide. And in minutes the mice stopped moving then their cell functions reached total inactivity. In extreme doses it is thought that hydrogen sulfide binds to cells in place of oxygen and the organism's metabolism shuts down. After breathing normal air again the mice quickly regained normal function and metabolic activity with no long-term negative effects so if it can be done on the human too it will make things i mentioned possible.

So if we come to the seven sleepers again in some caves, always or in different periods there can be hydrogen sulfide in the air so breathing it can make slowly fall asleep then hibernate for a long time possible for them creating the legendary story of the seven sleepers making it nothing to do with a divine miracle of god!
